About Me
I was born and grew up in a small town in China, and finished my undergraduate study in Tianjin, then chose to pursue my master’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL. During my school years in China, it took me some time to figure out what I am really interested in. I found an answer before going to the U.S., I would like to do things related to technology as my future career path, to be specific, I want to be a software engineer.
I put a lot of effort to develop my technical skills and have done several wonderful projects. I enjoy coding and feel so satisfied when people can use my work to get the “things” they need. Currently, I am looking for a full-time job as a software engineer in the U.S., I am open to all job opportunities.
Besides my passion for professional development, I am quite a foodie, I love to cook and explore delicious food all over the world. I also spend my time photographing, to capture the beauty of everything. You can find those on my Instagram. Welcome new followers! :P

Experience
- Designed, developed the backend of an e-commerce website using Angular, Spring Boot, Java,TypeScript, CSS, HTML, etc.
- Built a relational database with MySQL to store the data in an orderly and reasonable manner.
- Embedding RESTful APIs in the website's server to optimize communication between the backend and frontend, improving the accuracy to track and analyze monthly data from users.
- Added security protection like User Authentication and Authorization for the website using JWT, OAuth2, OpenID Connect and SSL/TLS
- Assisted in-class Group Assignments and helped over 200+ students solve real-time problems related to multiple databases manipulating languages(MySQL, MongoDB, etc.) and web application development processes.
- Collaborated with other TAs and CAs on course delivery and question clarification, and got a 12% higher rate on the course satisfaction survey compared to last semester.
- Trained more than 30 new employees on the auxiliary system of the Dining Center.
- Assessed customer’s individual needs while providing beverage service as Barista in the Ikenberry Dining Center cafe.
- Developed robust relationships with customers and full-time employees, earning customer loyalty and boosting positive feedback and sales.
- Initiated market investigation on elderly nursing, screened data retrieved from Statistical Books, applied Eviews in integrating data, analyzing the market situation, and predicting trends.
- Drafted research questionnaires and conducted field interviews with local elder groups. Use SQL and Excel VBA to process the hundreds of pieces of data collected through interviews, and use Excel to create visual charts to make the data more intuitive.
